Innocent parents trapped in Santa Clara County family courts have known for decades what it feels like to be raped and abused , then judged by a Santa Clara County Superior Judge.
This week the rest of the world got a glimpse into how the Santa Clara County legal system views women after Judge Persky gave a 20 year old white Stanford University student, convicted of three felonies, only a six month sentence.
This sentence came down after eyewitnesses caught the student brutally raping a woman following a Stanford frat party and physical evidence collected at the scene more than confirmed the rape. His defense , of course, it was "consensual". as Turners pricey lawyers explained to the Stanford graduate judge. Ironically Persky isn't; actually the biggest woman hater on the Santa Clara County bench.
A Santa Clara County jury didn't buy that being brutally raped behind a dumpster during a Stanford frat party seemed like a consensual sex event, but Judge Persky seemed to think the rapist deserved leniency " because jail would be too hard on him ". And it may have been more the probation department's recommendation that is more responsible for letting Turner off easily.
Judge Persky doesn't hate women , he was endorsed by the League of Women Voters and ran some campaign stops through a few women's organizations on his Snapchat political run for the bench .
The Court of Public Opinion doesn't see it the same as Judge Persky . Mothers and fathers are reading the victim statement to their sons and daughters and after Turner's own father made an entitled and insensitive comment, other fathers have jumped on Brock Turner's father and are speaking up in support of the victim and to stop the culture that thinks rape is a marginal inconvenience for the victim. On day two , this father to father letter is going viral .
Santa Clara County didn't think jail was too hard for a pregnant mother who Judge Grilli sent there after the mom refused to send her sick son on a family court ordered visit to his paternal grandma. Perhaps Judge Grilli and Judge Persky, of Santa Clara County's judicial bench, think that Santa Clara County jails are only for poor people who can't afford the lawyers Mark Turner's a-hole dad could clearly afford.
Maybe jail is just too harsh for a white boy who has lived in Silicon Valley's elite neighborhoods and stayed in a Stanford dorm , paid by a Stanford scholarship because he could swim fast. Maybe swimming fast gives rapists immunity in Silicon Valley. Based on Silicon Valley judge decisions, it sure seems to the public like it does.
As petitions , social media blogs and threatening phone calls flood Santa Clara County Courts, those in the know are fully aware that Santa Clara County and California's Commission on Judicial Performance will protect Judge Persky over protecting the pubic trust in the legal system. Those also in the know , have a long history of how Santa Clara violates state and federal laws to keep the media out of its business.
Judge Persky just handed every rich white male a GET-OUT-OF -JAIL for rape card while sending a message to women that Santa Clara County is not interested in justice for them.
Judge Persky may have judicial immunity and an ability to ignore public trust. but what about a conflict of interest that may have skewed his judgement?
Few seemed to notice that Judge Persky was a Stanford alumni, and clearly not bothered at all by a perceived conflict of interest as he virtually let a fellow Stanford elite off the hook for a brutal rape.
Few know that Judge Persky also must uphold the public trust in the legal system , which he clearly failed to do .
Those issues are a matter for California's Judicial Performance and California's Judicial Council should be investigating the gender bias in Santa Clara County Superior Courts that runs rampant in all divisions and that has been being reported for decades in family law cases.
Children who grow up trapped in family courts in Santa Clara have witnessed paid experts and lawyers who were willing to lie and cheat in order keep dragging their parents into court , until the family money is all gone. The Turners seemed to have figured this out as well. Money does buy you justice in Santa Clara County . If you don't have it , it buys you jail time.
And the media , state legislators and public officials ? They have been unmoved for decades by the horrors of Santa Clara Family Courts, and now are shocked on a criminal issue, Same judges folks and same system. Same judicial culture.
But ..... The story of the rich little white boy from Stanford may change the conversation and the culture.
The victim's story may have left Judge Persky unaffected professionally, but millions of supporters have signed petitions, flooded social media and demanded mainstream media find the details to bring the spoiled , entitled, rich brat and his lenient judge to justice in the Court of Public Opinion.
Brock Turner has the name of a spoiled rich brat who demonstrates again that Santa Clara County justice is for sale to the highest bidder with the most unethical lawyer.
Santa Clara County has been ignoring rape victims for decades. Family courts make it impossible for these victims to receive protection or justice and the Santa Clara County DA ignores nearly every case of rape and abuse that presents from a family law case.
This time as the Spotlight again swings to the judges who appear more effected by high paid lawyers and experts , than by trying to assure the law or protect public trust in the legal system, may change the conversation.
With the Spotlight firmly on the Santa Clara County judicial bench, Anonymous Family Court intends to keep the Spotlight shining until the last rat bastard judge is off the bench, or in jail, and the county's legal system works for the people and true victims, even when those victims are women.
