No other place in American society is the glass ceiling more firmly intact than in our legal system.
By fact, women lawyers earn less than their male counterparts. Women lawyers appear to get lower fee awards than men. Women still make up less than 30% of the country's sitting judges. As 2016 sees the first true female contender for President, other women across the country , who have remained silent for decades, are suddenly taking risks to effect change related to gender bias that remains woven in the fabric of American society. Other women are suing law firms that have flagrantly discriminated and Whistleblowers are blowing their whistles louder than ever. Woman Files Gender Bias Suit Against Sedgwick This week Traci Ribeiro of the 200 law firm, Sedgwick, sued one of America's largest law firms, claiming women can not break the glass ceiling at Sedgwick . Ms. Ribeiro appears to be ramped up to expose the firm's dirty little gender bias secrets. The fight elevated when the case was filed in San Francisco. The Bay Area continues to be ground zero for breaking the glass that is so firmly protecting an antiquated and gender biased legal system . Good luck Traci!

Women lawyers are some of the most misogynist lawyers there are in my view. If women lawyers vowed to care about all women across all socioeconomic realms I might be forced to care about women lawyers paycheck. I don't see women lawyers stepping up and doing pro bono work for women all that much. Recently the ACLU finally took up a woman's isue but again it was Hollywood actresses' paychecks. Let's keep the focus where it belongs regarding legal Injustice and talk about normal people who are routinely raped and impovershed by her sorority left and right within the court system and across-the-board. In every area of society women need other women to support them and nowhere is that need more apparent than in Family and Probate Court. Women lawyers need to rise above the stench of the male playground which is the legal arena as is, instead of stooping down to the level of miscreant which is what I have routinely witnessed over the past three years. If before women lawyers win this lawsuit they promise to fight for ALL Women's Rights and to do more pro bono work for women I might be tempted to care about a lawyer's paycheck.. at least as much as an actress'.
